Putting a building on the map

A thoughtfully crafted landscape has the power not only to enhance the aesthetics of a building, but also make it stand out in its surroundings. The success story of Bedford Heights is an example of this. What was once a plain office block is now a recognized landmark, thanks to our expertise, and we can do the same for you or your clients.

Bedford Heights

The story of Bedford Heights: Originally built and occupied by Texas Instruments, the new owners wanted a Texas theme throughout. So we created a Texas garden at the entrance and variants in 3 courtyards. The garden is designed around an arroyo, or dry river bed, surrounded by prairie-like planting, which created different environs enabling us to incorporate plants native to Texas, many of which are rare in the UK. As a result Bedford Heights has become a story about its gardens, as much as about the fine offices they serve.

The gardens are opened each year as part of the National Garden Scheme (ngs.co.uk): currently the only commercial building in the East of England to be awarded this accolade. This year we are opening on Saturday July 15 from 10am to 2pm. If you would like a private tour please contact us and Graham will happily show you around. We also offer a comprehensive landscape planning application service.
